May he rest in peace

Tim was a musician, composer, sound engineer, and sound designer. He has been described as a quiet ambassador of Americana in its purest sense. Proudly he served as the resident sound designer at La MaMa for 25 years. As a resident artist at La MaMa, Tim generously shared his skills as a composer, sound designer and musician with literally hundreds of artists.

His imprint on the downtown theatre scene is immeasurable.
He worked with the famous, the yet-famous and the infamous. Frequent collaborators included Ellen Stewart and The Great Jones Repertory Company, Richard Foreman, John Jesurun, Ping Chong + Company, Ridge Theatre, Target Margin Theater, María Irene Fornés, Ntozake Shange, The Talking Band, Theodora Skipitares, John Kelly, Teatro Patologico (Rome), Witness Relocation and many others.

Tim was the recipient of 1998 and 2000 Obie Awards and a 2007 IT Award for collaborative design.

In the future, an announcement will be made for a celebration of Tim’s life and work at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club. We hope you will join us.

Can not believe it has been 2 months since my last post here...Mike had an amazing time at the O'Neill and I have been busy with a book and applications. Also putting together a panel for the MidEast puppet festival in september...never a dull moment.
