Whew. POST NO ILLS. My vision for this exhibit was always to celebrate the rich art community of Columbus Ohio. A community that embraced me and never made me feel like an outsider. This was about us always. I wanted to create a diverse, vibrant moment. I’m so grateful to know so many incredible artists across all disciplines and I knew I wanted to collaborate. Music, Movies, Dance, and visual representation of who WE are. Columbus is so rich culturally and I needed POST NO ILLS to reflect that. We are deeply honored to be a finalist for Greater Columbus Arts Council’s 2022 Columbus Makes Art Excellence Awards for the exhibition Post No Ills with Lance Johnson! The award recognizes outstanding achievements in innovation, risk and artistic excellence in performance, exhibition, program or project. Thank you Peggy R. McConnell Arts Center of Worthington for ALL the support. Thank you Greater Columbus Arts Council for the recognition. The nomination alone is a dream. Big S/O to all my collaborators. Too many to mention but I am beyond grateful to work together and more to come! Thank you to everyone who supports my journey near and far. Inspired by you all.
