Martin Luther King, Jr., reminded us that “the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.” So today we must have faith that we can stand up in the face of every injustice and bend it back toward its arc. We can have a new dream despite the petty tyrannies. Dr. King pointed the way and we can do it again.

Today is a National Day of Mourning for President Jimmy Carter, a man that lead our world honorably, protecting our lives, our dignity and our environment while he was in office and continuing his work of service out of office for the rest of his life.
