a few years ago I got stuck in Boston due to a cancelled flight so I went to a late night showing of whatever Indiana jones movie had just come out and it sucked so I walked out and went back to my hotel and wrote the first half of this song. That has nothing to do with the song itself but it might not exist if that Indiana Jones movie didn’t suck ass

Survived another tour! In a time where many artists are cancelling tours, people can’t afford tickets, etc…I’m so grateful for every person that came out to these shows. I can get so in my head about why things aren’t bigger and feeling like it’s al fleeting and nothing makes that feel more foolish than walking out onto a stage to hear a thousand people sing my songs with me. It’s as humbling as it is encouraging. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. We’ve got a few more US dates we’ll be announcing soon so keep an eye out ❤️

Performing this song at home hit a little different. I’ve found through messages and comments this song means so many different things to so many people. I don’t know how to describe the feeling I get when I perform it and can tell people are connecting with it I just know I’m happy I wrote this one.

Now I have a home and a family and a successful music career and get to come back to my hometown and play for a crowd like this and I’m just dumbfounded by how that happened. I’m so grateful and I feel the love Norfolk. Thank you.

In honor of my homecoming show at The Norva in Norfolk, VA here’s some videos there 10 years ago opening up for a band. I was asked to open at The Norva and The National in Richmond and I couldn’t believe it. Now I’m coming back home to headline them both for the second time. Unreal.
