The Howell Binkley Fellowship Program is thrilled to announce their sixth Fellow for 2026, Jules Cabrera (https://www.julescabdesign.com/ ). Jules is a theatrical lighting designer born and raised in Austin, Texas. She holds a BFA in Theatre from Texas State University, an M.F.A. in Lighting Design and Technology at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She is thrilled by the opportunity to work with Ryan O’Gara and Amanda Zieve, and intends to make the most of every moment and connection. Jules hopes to move to New York City, and is excited to carry what she learns from this opportunity every step of the way. She values storytelling in all of its forms, especially through light.

Please help us congratulate Jules on this next step in her career. We cannot wait to get in theater together. Jules embodies the legacy of Howell Binkley and we know he would have been delighted to meet her and watch her soar.

Thank you for sharing . It was a pleasure to sit at Mark’s tech table and dinner table alike. Hearing his stories of early days with Howell were entertaining and joyous. Amanda remembers working for Mark when Howell called, and they proceeded to catch up for an hour on the phone while Mark was focusing at . Mark immediately extended an invite to tech/a preview of Rebecca in Berlin after learning she was Howell Binkley Fellow #2 and in town. Mark’s spirit, talent and kindness will not be forgotten by our community. Love you Mark ❤️.

The Howell Binkley Fellowship Program is delighted to announce their 2025 Fellow, Michael Crevoisier (http://mpclights.com/). Michael is from Northern Virginia and recently graduated from VCUarts with a B.F.A. in Theater Arts (concentration in Lighting Design). His interest in lighting was sparked in high school after seeing Ain’t Too Proud - The Life and Times of The Temptations lit by Howell Binkley. Michael’s passion has grown through education and hands-on experience. He is excited and honored to receive this opportunity to learn from Ryan and Amanda, and to dive into Howell’s world. He looks forward to honing his craft, growing as an artist, and connecting with theater makers.
