is the author of Lionel Lancet and the Right Vibe, a slacker noir that satirizes indulgent spirituality and dark money in right wing politics.   He’s also an active member of the Micasa community - maybe you met him at one of our Shoes Off! comedy events?  If you did, you already know he’s an all-around excellent fellow; funny, friendly, facially furry.

Daniel’s next project, The Kingdom of Liminal Space, is composed of a novel and a concept album that explore suburban aesthetics, the American dream, and the fading relevance of the electric guitar in light of the eminence of the synthesizer.  Sounds like a trip!

Look for Daniel at one of our upcoming Micasa events, or wherever else the vibe is right.

has a story to tell, and it ROCKS.

Liz was born in South Korea, raised in Minnesota, and moved to Brooklyn more than a decade ago.

Five years ago while hiking in New Jersey, Liz found a rock that was the approximate size, shape, and weight of a vintage Nokia cellphone.

She painted it accordingly and hasn't stopped since!

Liz has painted rocks to look like just about everything: pizza slices, pieces of cake, Blockbuster videos, Vaseline, microwaves, googley eyes, remote controls, macaroni and cheese, and tuna salad sandwiches. Whatever she sees in a rock, that's what she paints. Sometimes she leaves rocks she's painted in Prospect Park in a hollow tree by The Boathouse.  Hidden treasures, How cool is THAT?

Look for Betty at a Micasa event this spring, or wherever else rock stars do their rock stuff.

Bret Raybould is out here doing it his way.  While other comedians were out looking for gigs at clubs, Bret was teaming up with Micasa to create “Shoes Off!” a series of stand-up comedy shows set in his brownstone in Bed-Stuy.

And Bret’s an innovator in basically everything else he does:

He self-produced his own one-hour comedy special for Youtube.

He put out a jazz-comedy album entitled Bret On Bublé (which charted at #34)

He even launched his own cryptocurrency, called Bretcoin. (This in turn makes him “The World's First Publicly Traded Comedian.” )

Most presently, Bret is getting ready for his theatrical debut with a play he co-wrote called "Race: The Movie: The Play," appearing at the NY Theater Festival. The play is a slapstick spoof of all of the recent white savior/prestige race movies and will feature some of the funniest comics/actors in NYC. To get tickets, DM him on Instagram or go to the NewYorkTheaterFestival.com

Look for Bret at Micasa’s “Shoes Off!” comedy show next month, or else just find him out on these streets, hustlin like a maverick with a dream.

Mary Carney’s joyful energy is infectious; even if you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting her at one of our stand-up comedy shows, you’d probably recognize her laugh.  She really gets the room going! (comedians love Mary)

Before arriving in Brooklyn in 2012, Mary grew up in Minneapolis MN, and studied Fashion & Art in WI.  She’s gone on to work professionally as a tailor in the NYC Fashion world for the last decade, which has given her the opportunity to work with some incredible people ranging from luxury fashion houses to A-list celebrities.  She’s even working on her own line of children’s clothing:  “Zealie Babes.”

Mary’s passions include vintage furniture, sewing, DIY, and anything creative.  In fact, if she’s not out and about spreading good cheer, Mary is probably hard at work creating something by hand.  She identifies as a “maker,” and she works with various mediums including textiles, paint, and digital design.  She even made custom decorations for our recent Create Love event (she really knows how to spice up a room).

Look for Mary at the Micasa fashion event this month, or at *77*, or wherever else joyful energy is abundant.

Shannon Cahalane is an unique and talented visual artist whose work will be featured at our upcoming fashion event.

On any given day, Shannon can be found galavanting around Brooklyn, turning local parks and rooftops into her studios, contemplating life, and manifesting momentum.

One of Shannon’s favorite creative modes is interpretive collage; she loves using her intuition to transform found media into abstract, intuitive recombinations. Can;t wait to see what she does next!

Look for Shannon at a Micasa event this spring, or at some other recombinative gathering of creative energies.
