THE MUSEUM-SIZED CAT IS OUT OF THE BAG! Over the course of a year, our team of artists at the studio had the great honor to craft over a dozen figures for the new Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. Each piece was made to match George's unique vision for his displays, and nearly all were crafted to fit the original costumes (and vehicles) from the films with the exception of Luke's A New Hope costume, which is a replica. We also made a 1/3 scale Darth Maul to ride an incredible custom Sith Speeder model by ILM's John Goodson. In addition to the Star Wars pieces, we made a custom body to support the nearly 100-year-old original Cowardly Lion costume from the Wizard of Oz! This was an immense and complex project and certainly one of the highlights here at the New York studio!

If this Phantasm display doesn't scare you, you're already dead! We built this for a client's original props—a dwarf mask and sentinel sphere—by incorporating elements from the Tall Man's Red Planet. From real river rocks to the floating sphere to some conservation work on the latex mask, this project brought together multiple moments from the movie to provide plenty of horrific context.
