This series of objects are created by wrapping skins onto found stones. As the artist, I guide the skins to find their forms around the stones, working with the unique shapes and characteristics of both materials. Through wet molding and heat treatment techniques, each piece becomes an individual honest exploration of the materials and the process involved. The end results often give a perception of a new ambiguous material. Each piece fits comfortably in a viewer’s palm, creating a sense of distanced control and compassion.
