March-April Newsletter
It’s been a cold snowy winter here in the northeast. For some unknown reason, I lost tract of time and was busy doing other things and so my painting came to a standstill. However, at the beginning of March, I discovered a new medium to work with. I’ll give the credit -or blame - to Pinterest. It’s called Gelli printing and I am temporarily obsessed with it. AI says Gelli printing is a versatile monotype printmaking technique using a soft, reusable gelatin plate to create unique, textured prints by applying acrylic paint, adding textures (stencils, plants), and pressing paper on top. It’s easy to do but there is a learning curve. My first tries were nothing but muddled messes. I was using too much paint and my paper was too thick. My next few tries I switched to copier paper and tissue paper and used less paint. The paint was easier to spread on the gel plate with the brayer but also dried much quicker. I was surprised the tissue paper didn’t tear. I made a bunch of solid and multi colored pages and then I tried printing them with a second or third layer using stencils. Not sure what I am going to do with all these printed papers and maybe some of them will wind up as cards. Anyway, it’s creative, abstract, messy, and fun. Isn’t that what art should be?

Happy 2026! It’s going to be a great year. Some of my paintings are at the Ulster County SPCA. In December I sold three watercolors and tomorrow I’ll be putting up some replacements tomorrow. All are matted and frames to 8” x 10”. Here’s a sneak preview.

November-December 2025 Newsletter

This has been a whirlwind of a year for me art wise. First this new page and all the new friends and followers. Several exhibits locally at banks and businessesand sometimes more than one going on at a time has been been hectic but rewarding as more people get to experience and purchase my paintings. November isn’t over yet and I have one big Christmas fair on November 22 at Regina Coeli
school in Hyde Park, NY.
Traditionally, the Saturday after Thanksgiving is Shop Local Day and I am extending Shop Local from now to the end of December. All paintings posted on my page this year are available for sale at a 20% discount. Some are matted and some are framed and all are standard sizes so if you would like one that is in a frame but want to use your own frame, I can sell it just matted. A few that have been posted have sold but I can always paint another. Local pickup or meet up or I can ship. Message me for sizes and prices if interested in any paintings.
Thanks for supporting your local artist and business. Hope your holidays are filled with joy, laughter and wonderful memories.

October Newsletter
I love the fall months from late September through Thanksgiving. The days this year have been sunny and warm, the nights cool. The dry weather we have been having isn’t doing much for a brilliant and colorful foliage display but I can always fix that by using my bright golds, oranges, and reds in my paintings from the leaves to the reflections in the water. All paintings are matted and framed, and are availablefor purchase. DM if interested.

Anne of Green Gables (Lucy Maud Montgomery) said it best, “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”

July-August Newletter
It’s already mid-July but there is still time for vacations, maybe it’s walking along the beach looking for shells and beach glass. Perhaps take out a boat and row around a lake. The water, whether it’s the ocean or a lake, always seems to calm my soul and refresh me. And I also find that painting those scenes is a soothing experience.
Hope you are enjoying the summer wherever you are and find find your happy place to recharge your soul.
