As a mom of two and someone who helps families plan Disney vacations every day, I see all kinds of trips, from resort only stays to quick 4 park 1 day mad-dash trips… if you want your trip to feel a lot less rushed, and a little more stress-free, try this one or more of these tips:
✨ 1. Don’t add a Park Hopper just because everyone says you should.
With young kids, hopping parks often means more transportation, more transitions, more rushing, and less actual fun. Most families are happier slowing down and fully enjoying one park each day, and there is SO MUCH in each park for all ages! From rides, to shows, to character interactions - take time to really enjoy where you’re at instead of worrying about where you’re going next
✨ 2. Stop trying to squeeze too many parks into your trip.
Just because Disney has four parks doesn’t mean you need to conquer all four. Some families would genuinely enjoy 3 park days, a resort day, pool time, and a character breakfast far more than running themselves ragged trying to “do it all.” If you have enough vacation time to get to all the parks, that’s great! But if you’re only visiting for 2-3 days, it may be worth it to see less and feel less overwhelmed
✨ 3. Avoid scheduling multiple dining and extra reservations in one day.
I love a good character meal as much as anyone, but when breakfast, lunch, and dinner start dictating every move of your trip, the magic can start feeling like a checklist. Add in enchanting extras on top of that, and you’ve somehow missed the entire park for “appointments”
With the exception of some experiences, if you want a more laid back trip, use the rule of thumb of one reservation max per day (or less!)
The goal isn’t to see everything.
It’s to create memories without feeling like you’re racing the clock the entire time.
If Disney planning feels overwhelming, that’s exactly what I help with. ✨🏰
