On August 26, 2026, Palestinian children narrowly escaped gunfire from an Israeli military quadcopter drone while pushing a cart loaded with drinking water in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza. The children were transporting water jerrycans on a trolley during a community water distribution when the drone opened fire directly toward them. They and nearby civilians managed to flee the immediate area and escaped without casualties, according to ground footage captured and documented by humanitarian workers from The Sameer Project, an independent aid group running daily water distributions in northern Gaza.

The incident highlights the growing danger facing civilians and aid operations in northern Gaza, where access to clean water remains severe. Humanitarian workers said the children had been participating in a routine distribution when the drone targeted their direction without warning. The Sameer Project, which documented the narrow escape, continues to provide daily water deliveries in the area despite mounting risks to both residents and relief teams. No injuries were reported in the incident, but the episode underscores the precarious conditions under which basic survival and humanitarian work are being carried out.

"The media is telling it all: Iran put belt to ass on America, causing billions in damages. They basically damn near kicked us out of the Middle East, or what the media calls the 'Middle East.'"

The DDP party in Taiwan and Japan’s far right regime can’t think that their war plans on China will ever happen at this point. Your cash cow can’t even handle Iran.

Jerusalem, August 27, 2026. An Israeli court has acquitted 36 year old Israeli settler Yona Simcha Schreiber of criminal charges for the violent assault of a French Catholic nun on the grounds of mental illness and active psychosis. The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court ruled that while Schreiber did commit the physical acts detailed in the indictment, such as body slamming the 48 year old nun and kicking her in the head, he was suffering from a psychotic episode at the time and was not criminally responsible. The court accepted a district psychiatrist's evaluation diagnosing him with schizophrenia, determining he could not understand his actions or stop himself. Instead of prison time, the court ordered Schreiber to undergo involuntary psychiatric hospitalization for up to six years. Israel has long been known to protect settlers from real justice as they terrorize Palestinians, Christians, and Muslims throughout the region, and this case has reinforced that pattern for many observers.

On August 25, 2026, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian officially inaugurated the country’s largest operational solar power plant, a 95-megawatt (MW) facility located near Tehran. The plant is primarily designed to supply clean electricity directly to the Shamsabad Industrial Town, and it forms part of a nationwide push to add 600 MW of renewable capacity to mitigate chronic industrial power outages and grid strain. The broader renewable roadmap includes an even larger, privately backed 5,000 MW mega-solar plant in Kuhpayeh, Isfahan, which spans 6,000 hectares, costs $2.8 billion, and aims to supply 10% of Iran’s power demand upon full completion.

Iran is aggressively scaling its clean energy portfolio to hit a target of 30,000 MW of renewable power within the next two years. The announcement follows the August 24, 2026 inauguration of the 15 MW Demirgeran Solar Power Plant in Qom, reflecting a rapid series of grid additions as the country works to expand its renewable capacity and reduce pressure on conventional power infrastructure.

Canada looks to join the EU.
However, Canada cannot join the European Union because Article 49 of the Treaty on European Union restricts membership strictly to geographically European states.

On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, far-right Israeli Knesset member Zvi Sukkot used a sledgehammer to smash a Palestinian memorial in the West Bank village of Madama, south of Nablus, while guarded by Israeli soldiers and Border Police. Sukkot and those accompanying him used heavy hammers to damage and dismantle the limestone monument, and he recorded parts of the incident on his phone. The monument commemorated local Palestinians killed over decades and featured their names and national symbols. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that soldiers and police had been diverted from regular operational duties to secure Sukkot for what was requested and authorized in advance as a “memorial tour” of several villages in the area.
