🦷 Clinical Pearl | Oral Surgery
When an extraction isn't progressing, don't automatically increase the force.
Pause and ask: What is preventing movement?
Root morphology, ankylosis, hypercementosis, inadequate purchase or insufficient bone removal may all change the surgical approach.
✨ The goal isn't to extract the tooth with more force. It's to remove it with better control.

Almost three decades later, our Founder had the beautiful opportunity to meet one of the very first students who was part of that journey.

From the early days of DSC to where we are today, so much has changed — technology, techniques, classrooms and generations of dentists.

But one thing has remained constant: our commitment to learning, mentorship and clinical excellence.

Meeting a student from our very first batch is more than a reunion.
It is a reminder of where we began, how far we have come, and the many dentists who have been part of the DSC story.

Clinical Pearl: Working length should not be considered a one-time measurement. Canal preparation can alter the canal anatomy, and debris accumulation or changes in apical patency may affect file positioning.
Reconfirm working length when indicated, especially after:
Establishing the glide path
Significant canal enlargement
Irrigation and recapitulation
Difficulty reaching the previously established length
Using an electronic apex locator, supported by radiographic assessment when appropriate, helps maintain accuracy throughout treatment.
