Meet our fifth writer for our upcoming event this Saturday March 21st at 7PM:

Urayoán Noel is the author of eleven books, including the critical study In Visible Movement: Nuyorican Poetry from the Sixties to Slam (2014, winner of the LASA Latinx Studies Section Book Prize) and the poetry collections Boringkén (2008, named a Book of the Year by El Nuevo Día) and Transversal (2012, named a Book of the Year by the New York Public Library and longlisted for the PEN Open Book Award). Noel edited and translated Architecture of Dispersed Life: Selected Poetry (2018) by Pablo de Rokha, which was a finalist for the National Translation Award, and is also the translator of adjacent islands/islas adyacentes by Nicole Cecilia Delgado and the forthcoming transfers/traslaciones (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2027) by Wingston González, for which Noel received a NYSCA Support for Artists grant. A 2022 Letras Boricuas fellow, Urayoán Noel lives in the Bronx and serves as Director of Graduate Studies for NYU’s MFA in Creative Writing in Spanish. Noel’s latest book is Cuaderno de Isabela/Isabela Notebook, published by La Impresora in Puerto Rico.

Meet our fourth writer for our upcoming reading this Saturday March 21st at 7PM:

Laura Liendo writes and teaches; she is Peruvian and lives in New York State. She holds a Ph.D. in Latin American Literature from The Graduate Center-CUNY. Her short stories have appeared in the Spanish journal *Caligrama*, and she won first place in the short story contest held by the Argentine journal *Guka*. She studied literature at the National University of San Marcos in Lima. Since 2025, she has served as Editorial Assistant for Chatos Inhumanos.

Meet our second writer for our upcoming reading on March 21st at 7PM: Constanza Liberona

Constanza Liberona (1991), Chilean filmmaker based in New York. She holds a degree in Film and Television from the University of Chile. Her work blends social realism with a pop and urban aesthetic to explore themes of feminism, justice, youth, migration, and collective memory. She began her career in photography during the student protests in Chile and debuted as a director with the short film Spring Rebels (Primavera secundaria), about the Chilean revolt, which premiered in The US and Colombia. Her coming-of-age TV script Sad Bangers (Bailar y Llorar) won the Audiovisual Narratives Fellowship two years in a row (2023-2024). Currently, she is developing a feature film set in New York, The Dream of the Bull, as well as a new play about feminism recently awarded the NYFA Queens Arts Fund.

Meet our first writer for our upcoming reading on March 21st at 7PM:

Juan Luis Landaeta (Caracas, 1988) is a multidisciplinary artist with a Master’s degree in Creative Writing in Spanish from New York University. His solo exhibitions include Jardín Desierto (Brooklyn, 2017), The identity of the line (2019), Unwritten (Washington D.C., 2019), New Works / New Paintings (New York, 2024), DOXA (Washington D.C., 2025) and Confinement is a vocabulary (Chicago, 2025). He is the author of La conocida herencia de las formas, Litoral central, and Roca Tarpeya. Landaeta has given talks and lectures on creativity and the intersection of literature and visual art at Emerson College, Georgetown University, Hunter College and Hofstra University. His work as a writer, visual artist, and chronicler of New York has appeared in international media outlets such as the New York Times, WSJ, Washington Post, Newsweek, CNN, Telemundo, Univision and EL PAÍS. He currently lives and works in New York City.

Miles de gracias a la .nyc por abrirnos sus puertas y darnos el espacio para una experiencia más de En Construcción. Gracias a quienes se acercaron ayer y nos acompañaron en este evento de reencuentros.
Hicimos un recorrido por las historia de En Construcción reviviendo las experiencias que tuvimos con cinco fabulosxs escritorxs que pasaron por el programa y pudimos escuchar sus nuevos trabajos. Gracias .la.fosse por participar el día de ayer.
