So... yeah. I just got hired and immediately declined the job.

Fully understand the mission, and I've been a shopper for 20 plus years now and love Goodwill.....

I had my interview today and was hired on the spot. Took a tour of the facilities and saw what my job would be as a Donation Attendant. Asked the rate of pay. 9 dollars an hour.

9 dollars an hour for manual labor AND having to learn and run a forklift. (no not certified, just taught by the asst manager)..... plus sides: human f***s only rarely donated, bed bug season is short and about a third of the donations are literally trash and so you get to deal with a lot of n__ty.

I don't know if I can shop there anymore knowing this now. I was excited to, not only get a job, but work at a place I've loved for decades. I learned I am very stupidly naive.

I respectfully declined. really gross goodwill, really gross.

AITAH for telling my neighbours.kids to stay out of my chicken coop?

This summer I have invested a substantial amount in a dozen egg laying chickens, a rooster, and converting an old camper into a chicken coop and building a secure chicken run around the coop.

Tonight I was doing chores about the property when I spotted the neighbors two kids (5 and 11) exiting my predator secured chicken run.

I asked what they were doing and they said they were just visiting my chickens. I told them that they were not to let themselves into my chicken run unless they had permission, or were accompanied by one of my kids (whose chores include chicken upkeep) and to not let me catch them in there again.

I mentioned the incident to my wife who berated me for causing problems with the neighbor.

Not five minutes later the neighbor kids mother comes over and starts yelling and screaming at me for telling her kids to stay out of my coop and proceeds to tell me to never...

AITA for not giving my parents a loan on their new restaurant?

I just want others thoughts on this. There's a lot of backstory to this. I've been working since 14 and had an account with my mom where all the money was deposited.

My parents got their first house when I was 18 and they used my money for the down payment without asking me or letting me know until I asked about that money closer to college. I thought it would be used for my college. At that time, I didn't have a car or my own phone, since they were very strict.

I'm now mid 20s. I've since moved out with my bf and saving up to get our own house. I only have a few grands saved since I got too spend happy with the financial freedom.

I also furnished my room, got a car, a phone, and cats. Also have college debt so there's that. My parents asked me recently for a loan from my saved up money.

AITA for wanting steak on my birthday?

I invited a few work friends and some non-work friends to my birthday party.

It was a small party, just nine people in total.

I didn't invite one of my colleagues because I knew he was vegetarian and I was worried he wouldn't enjoy it.

Coincidentally, another colleague accidentally told him about the party. He then asked me outright if he could come. They had vegetarian options, salads, and appetizers, so there would be some things he could eat.

At the last minute, he changed his mind, saying he didn't want to spend money any restaurant that sold any type of meat. He then accused me of deliberately choosing a steakhouse, saying it was basically a plan to get rid of him.

I mean, it was my birthday, and it's my money, so I should be able to choose how I want to spend it. He chose not to spend his money at the steakhouse, even after asking me, and even after me...

AITA for telling my friend I'm not going to keep "translating" for her at family gatherings since it's exhausting and she never thanks me?

My friend (26F) doesn't speak my family's language, but she comes to a lot of our gatherings since she's close with my siblings too. I usually end up translating conversations for her the whole time so she doesn't feel left out, which I don't mind doing occasionally, but it's basically expected of me now at every single event, for hours at a stretch.

Last gathering I was mid-conversation with a relative I don't see often, and she leaned over asking me to translate what was being said, again. I told her I needed a break from translating for a bit and to just enjoy hanging out without needing a play-by-play, since I also want to actually participate in my own family's conversations instead of narrating them.

She looked hurt and said she feels excluded enough already without a language barrier making it worse, and that I make it seem like a burden to help her feel included. I said it's not that I mind...

My 24F boyfriend 28M of 3 years broke up with me and I can’t stop replaying how I reacted?

My boyfriend of 3 years sat me down few days ago and told me he'd been feeling different lately and thought we should take a break. I asked him if there was someone else. He said no.

I also asked if there was a specific reason and and if he was breaking up for good. He just said something about 'not wasting my time' and that maybe it was better if we just went our separate ways. H where I'm stuck and feeling so ashamed.

In that moment of panic I asked if there was anything I could do to change his mind. Like anything at all to make him stay. And he just looked at me and kept asking 'Anything.

Are you sure' He said it more than three times and each time I said yes. I cringe so hard thinking about it now. I hate that I practically begged.

That I kept saying I'd do anything. It was like my brain short-circuited...
