This microwave has clearly been through a lot. šŸ˜‚šŸæ

Walked into the break room and saw ā€œNO POPCORNā€ signs taped all over it, the popcorn button disabled, and even a warning not to plug it back in.

At that point, you know there had to be more than one burnt popcorn incident for management to go this far.

I get it ā€” burnt popcorn smell can take over an entire building, and nobody wants the fire alarm going off because someone trusted the popcorn button a little too much.

Still, the amount of signs made me laugh. It looks less like a microwave and more like a restricted area.

Now Iā€™m curiousā€¦ would you follow the no-popcorn rule, or would you risk becoming the reason they add another sign? šŸ˜…

SO CASH IS FAKE NOW???
Standing at the counter with a REAL $100 bill and this place has a whole sign saying they ā€œdonā€™t acceptā€ it before 1 PM. Since when does money have business hours???

Iā€™m not pulling out monopoly money. This is legal tender. But somehow Iā€™m the problem because I didnā€™t bring my tracking chip, I mean card. They really expect people to just accept that cash is ā€œoptionalā€ now like itā€™s a suggestion.

Left my stuff on the counter and walked out. If my money isnā€™t good enough for you, neither is my business. Absolute dystopian nonsense.

Some of us were definitely trying to sleep.
Waking up to loud banging and digging before noon on a weekend isā€¦ not ideal.
Iā€™ve already reached out to the appropriate authorities about the noise, and I really hope it doesnā€™t continue, because weekends are supposed to be a bit more peaceful than that.
This used to be a pretty quiet neighborhood, so itā€™s been a bit of a shock seeing front yards turned into full construction zones with no real consideration for everyone else around.
Just feels like common courtesy has taken a bit of a backseat lately....,,,,

I donā€™t care how ā€œharmlessā€ people think this is, this is exactly how you traumatize someone in their own house.

I walked into the bathroom and saw the shower area covered in red, splattered up the tiles, pooled on the floor, curtain stained, and my 6 year old niece sitting there slumped forward with her back turned, head down, completely still. For a split second my brain didnā€™t even question it, it just went straight to the worst possible conclusion. I froze. Couldnā€™t even process the knock at the door, couldnā€™t speak, just staring at what looked like a full scene in my own bathroom.

Then I finally moved, trying not to slip, trying to say her name without losing it, already shaking before I even got close. And she justā€¦ looks up. Completely fine. Hands and hair covered, looking confused why Iā€™m reacting like that. Thatā€™s when it clicked, red hair dye. Everywhere. Walls, floor, her, everything.

And Iā€™m supposed to just laugh that off? No. I told her straight up thatā€™s not happening again. I donā€™t care if people think itā€™s ā€œjust dyeā€ or ā€œkids being kids,ā€ because for that moment, standing there in that bathroom, my brain didnā€™t see dye. It saw something no parent should ever have to think theyā€™re looking at.

So yeah, bright red dye is done in this house. If that makes me dramatic, fine. Iā€™m not reliving that kind of shock again just so someone can have fun with a color.

Zero tip at 11:47PM and I'm supposed to treat it like a charity mission? I pull up, see the glowing doorbell and that dramatic little "Baby Sleeping" sign like it's a warning label. If you're that protective over silence, maybe tip the person handling your food at midnight.

Yeah, I took fries. Consider it a processing fee. Then I rang the doorbell on purpose. Not a soft tap either, I held it down like I was trying to reset the house. Baby starts wailing instantly. Mom starts shouting. Dog joins in. Whole house in chaos over a $0 tip.

And I just stood there for a second listening to it unravel before casually walking back to my car. If you can afford late night McDonald's delivery, you can afford to tip. I don't work for free and I definitely don't tiptoe for free. Hope that lesson sticks louder than that doorbell did.

A recent dining experience really made me pause and think about how much tipping culture has evolved over the years.

My brother and I went out for dinner recently and had a genuinely great experience overall. Our bill came to about $70, and we left a $20 tip ā€” nearly 30% ā€” because we truly appreciated the service and wanted to show it.

What surprised us most was what happened afterward.

Instead of the tip simply being accepted, we were told that if we couldnā€™t leave at least $35, we should reconsider dining out altogether.

Honestly, that caught both of us completely off guard.

I completely understand that many servers rely heavily on tips, and I do believe good service should be recognized and rewarded. At the same time, when a tip thatā€™s close to 30% is still viewed as ā€œnot enough,ā€ it raises a bigger question about where the line is between a voluntary gesture of appreciation and something that feels expected or even mandatory.

This feels like more than just one uncomfortable interaction. It connects to a much larger conversation happening everywhere right now ā€” rising restaurant prices, wage structures, customer expectations, and the growing reliance on tipping across the service industry.

šŸ’¬ Iā€™m genuinely curious how others see this:

If a $20 tip on a $70 bill is considered insufficient, what do you personally feel is a fair and reasonable tip today? And at what point do you think tipping shifts from being optional appreciation to an expectation?
