Even though I’m living in the U.S., a Hong Konger always craves the taste of Hong Kong! I’m obsessed with mixed rice noodle rolls and soy sauce chow mein. Does that make me a true Hong Konger? 😆😆
Treating myself to a day in Chinatown and a classic Hong Kong-style café, 茶餐廳 Cha Chaan Teng!

Walking with the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas Parade.
Many years ago when I chose to be an exchange student from Guam to Montana, I attended my very first Pow Wow. It was a meaningful experience that introduced me to Indigenous cultures and traditions.
Today, being part of this parade brings back those memories and reminds me how important it is to connect with one another, honor our differences, and learn from each other.
We need more peace, respect, and understanding within our communities, among our neighbors, and across nations ❤️.

Art talk recorded in 2021 during the pandemic.
Feminine Lines in a Cage (2014)
Four women and their living spaces became my inspiration. Colorful painted cardboard pieces transformed into abstract structures, expressing the boundaries, challenges, and hopes hidden within the walls we call home.
Looking back at this work reminds me of my own journey—from afar to arriving in New York City, searching for my place in this big, complex city.
It is personal stories, the emotional landscapes of so many of us trying to find a place to belong.
