Even though it’s been mostly me taking up air in this tiny bedroom studio, I have already been blessed to have so many amazing people over to hang and create.

Just wanted to take a moment to thank anyone that has ever shared their time and been apart of the space.

So grateful for what has already passed and looking forward to an amazing future!

Catching a vibe ✨

Sampled some cool strings and a monologue recording on a cassette my wife made when she was 6. There’s definitely some mojo in those old memories that always gets the creative feels going.

Also, really impressed with the AKG 414s (overheads and overdubs) and this mic setup. I ended up not using any EQ or compression on the drums. Also pretty sure the drum balances are as they were when tracked. Things just sounded right from the start and that makes all the difference 🤙

Grateful for the space… planning for the future 🙏

Blessed to have met up with someone I’ve looked up to since high school and get the opportunity to collaborate.

This studio is still in its infancy, but I have big dreams of expanding it to better serve others and the creative work flow.

Even with that in mind, I know to enjoy the process. That’s what connects us to the present and prepares us for the next steps.

Haven’t been practicing drums as much recently. Been focused on recording. Either way, when these songs find me I do my best to let them be what they want to be. The more we do this the better we get at letting them translate ✨

Always fun to geek out about gear. Especially when you get to a point where it feels like a family member. Love this piece!

Very recommended if you’re wanting something that serves multiple purposes and excels in each category. Really happy I invested in this one. This particular unit actually came from a studio in Kansas where a lot of my favorite tracks were mixed through.

Gear is cool, but the history, vibe, and people that surround it are what give it the magic ✨
