Grateful for the space… planning for the future 🙏

Blessed to have met up with someone I’ve looked up to since high school and get the opportunity to collaborate.

This studio is still in its infancy, but I have big dreams of expanding it to better serve others and the creative work flow.

Even with that in mind, I know to enjoy the process. That’s what connects us to the present and prepares us for the next steps.

Haven’t been practicing drums as much recently. Been focused on recording. Either way, when these songs find me I do my best to let them be what they want to be. The more we do this the better we get at letting them translate ✨

Always fun to geek out about gear. Especially when you get to a point where it feels like a family member. Love this piece!

Very recommended if you’re wanting something that serves multiple purposes and excels in each category. Really happy I invested in this one. This particular unit actually came from a studio in Kansas where a lot of my favorite tracks were mixed through.

Gear is cool, but the history, vibe, and people that surround it are what give it the magic ✨

Recording is one of my favorite things in life... The opportunity to creatively capture sounds and open audible windows into a moment in space is fascinating.

The more I learn the less I know, but the more I keep at it, the clearer these windows get. To anyone out there that feels discouraged or disconnected, if you love what you do keep going. I promise it’ll all make sense.

Art is perspective, intuition, connection… Follow what’s interesting and listen to your inner voice. If it’s right, you’ll see a way in for whatever it is you’re working on.

Connecting to my roots and exploring some backwoods swampy tones.

Keeping it simple and only using three mics. SM7b on acoustic guitar, an old Sony reel to reel mic on kick, and a Pinnacle Fathead over my shoulder.
