Well that was… something

Melvin Langley
#28 Quality Preowned Super Stock 4 Cylinder
Melvin pill drew a 31 placing him starting 2nd in the heat race. He had a strong start in the heat race but around he went in turn 4 and ran hot after coming to a stop, ending his heat race early.
His finish in the heat placed him starting 14th in the main event. A strong go in the feature and got up to a top 10. He held his position there for a while but Cricket did what she does and ran hot again ending his night with 5 laps to go. Melvin coming in early made him fall back 2 positions finishing 12th.
Some work to do in the shop this week on Cricket to figure out how to get her to perform like the team knows she can. But overall not a bad night for Melvin and Cricket.

Cole Langley
#29 Tidewater Energy Pure Stock 4 Cylinder
Cole had an interesting night in store for him. With the rain that came through at the last race he didn’t run his feature so he ran a heat race and 2 features Saturday night.
Cole pill drew a 72 placing him starting 6th in the heat race. Cole went into the heat race knowing he didn’t want to mess anything up with him having to run 2 main events Saturday night. However that quickly changed and he ended up sitting on the dirt berm (pic included below). Which was the end of the heat race for him and placed him finishing 9th.
For his first feature he started 3rd and it was looking super promising for a top 5 finish, but then the car overheated and he had to come in early finishing that feature 13th.
For his second feature he started 17th and all was going well for him until we heard the announcer say ā€œthat’s a caution in a cautionā€ and Cole was sitting sideways on the other dirt berm. Another end to the night for Cole finishing his last feature of the night 14th.
Not how we were hoping to finish the night but at the end of the day things could’ve been a lot worse so we thank the Lord for safety and replacement parts.

A shoutout to the team for all their hard work on both Melvin and Cole’s cars! They were on it from the time Melvin came in with his motor running hot and Cole with a broken rack. We also had some help from one of our competitors and we appreciate them stepping in to help us get back going!

A moment for some ā€œthank you’sā€ because after Saturday night they are definitely due!
Thank you County Line for providing a place for us to race locally, thank you to all our help Saturday night, thank you to all our sponsors, and thank you Jesus for answered prayers! We’ll see you next time at The Line.

Saturday night recap!

Melvin Langley
#29 Quality Preowned Supper Stock 4 Cylinder
Melvin pill drew a 2 placing him starting first in his qualifying laps. His fastest lap was a 17.637.
His lap time in qualifying placed him starting 5th in his feature. Started out as a really good run and was looking like a great night for Melvin and Buster. But a little bump up causing some sheet metal damage ended the night for Buster and Melvin. The cosmetic damage to the car caused it to run hot and brought Melvin on in for the night placing 16th.

Cole Langley
#28 Quality Preowned Supper Stock 4 Cylinder
Cole pill drew a 62 placing him starting 9th in qualifying. With his fastest lap time being a 18.536.
His lap time in qualifying placed him starting 14th in the feature. Cole and Cricket went flag to flag Saturday night, and this is the first time Cricket has finished a race this season! Cole held his own and finished 14th.

Now you might be thinking ā€œCole’s name again? Must be a typo.ā€ And to that we say nope, not a typo. Cole ran 2 classes Saturday night!
Cole pill drew a 87 placing him starting 16th in qualifying. With his fastest lap time being a 18.455.
His lap time in qualifying placed him starting 3rd in the feature. What was looking like a promising night for Cole ended with some pretty heavy rain showers. So we loaded up and came on home.

Some people might read this post and think ā€œwhat a bad night for those drivers.ā€ However we could say that too but we would be wrong to do so. We look at Saturday night and see God’s hand in all of it! Melvin might not have finished the race but how blessed are we that there was just minor damage?Cole didn’t get to run his feature but what did that protect him from? What a blessing it is to say that our drivers made it home safe!
We would like to thank our team here at RLR for sticking it out through the heat and then the pouring rain! Y’all are so appreciated! We also like to thank our sponsors for their contributions and all their help so far this season! And a big thank you to the County Line Raceway for always putting on a show! Finally the biggest thank you to our Lord and Savior for guiding every step Saturday and for every blessing He gives that we know we don’t deserve.
If you missed us last weekend we’ll be back at The Line August 1st! Be sure to come by if you’re in the pits and say hi!

Well we tried to dance the ran away but i guess it didn’t like our dancing skills. šŸ’§ā˜”ļøā›ˆļøwith that being said the races this evening are canceled šŸ˜”

But that’s ok because we definitely needed the rain that’s coming. We will miss all of you this week! Be sure to make plans to come out to the local track and support your local drivers July 18th for an awesome night of racing at the County Line! šŸ

Happy Father’s Day from Russell Langley Racing!šŸ

We’d like to take a moment to wish all the dads a happy Father’s Day! From the ones who have their children here with them, the ones that are soon to be fathers, the ones who didn’t get to meet their child because heaven needed them more, and the ones who stepped up to the plate even when they didn’t have too. Today we celebrate all the dads out there who care so deeply for their families and do things behind the scenes that sometimes go unnoticed. Dads we see you and we thank you for all you do! We also would like to send our condolences to the kids that have lost their dad and this day is particularly hard for them. ā¤ļø

Saturday night recap!

Melvin Langley
#29 Quality Preowned Supper Stock 4 Cylinder
Melvin had an interesting start to his evening. While pulling on the track with Cricket for the slow roll in one of the track officials noticed that there was something wrong with the tires. When Melvin pulled off the track the official notified him and upon further inspection we came to the realization that the axle had broken before when even started racing. Us here at RLR just aren’t going to throw the night away like that, so we loaded the car on the trailer and went and got Buster! Because Melvin had to leave before his heat race he missed it and had to start at the back in the feature.
Starting dead last in the feature Melvin drove his way through traffic to about mid pack. And folks let me tell you Buster did not disappoint! We weren’t able to get the car exactly like we wanted it for the feature but overall we’re very happy with how Buster performed! And folks Melvin finished a race for the first time so far this season! Finishing in the top 10 placing 7th! An interesting night for the #29 of Melvin Langley but happy to bring home a true finish with the car!

Cole Langley
#29 Tidewater Energy Pure Stock 4 Cylinder
Cole pill drew a 61 placing him starting 5th in his heat race. Cole held his position in the heat with promising lap times for the main event.
Cole’s finish in the heat placed him starting 9th in the main event. He had a pretty strong start in the main event however he got loose in turn 3 and 4 and that sent him spinning putting him at the back and causing some damage as well. Because of this the car no longer performed how we had hoped. But he still finished the race placing 13th. Not the night we were looking for the #29 of Cole Langley but that’s racing folks!

It was truly an eventful race day for RLR! Thankful for our team and how quickly they worked Saturday night for both of our drivers! As always we’d like to thank our sponsors for their support and for the County Line Raceway for making a way for us to be able to race locally! And most importantly we thank the Lord for allowing us to be able to participate in this great sport and for bringing our drivers and team home safely! If you missed us this time we will catch you next time at The Line! šŸ

Saturday night at The Line!

Melvin Langley
#28 Quality Preowned Super Stock 4 Cylinder
Melvin pill drew a 13 placing him starting 3rd in qualifying. With all the homework the team got done over the last 2 weeks we were hopeful to see some results in qualifying from ā€œCricketā€. His fastest lap time was a 18.192 in qualifying placing him starting 13th for the feature.
A strong start in the feature from Melvin and it was looking promising for him and Cricket, but a quick end to the night with you guessed it… part failure. Ending his night and finishing 19th. Cricket seems to just really like assigning homework to the team but we’re going to get it right here one day. If you know anything about racing you know some times it can just be like that. Once again not the finish we were hoping for from the #28 of Melvin Langley but we’ll take it back to the shop and see what we can do differently for next time.

Cole Langley
#29 Tidewater Energy Pure Stock 4 Cylinder
Cole pill drew a 100 placing him starting 17th in qualifying. Cole ended up with his fastest lap time being a 18.859. Placing him starting 14th in the feature. He gained 6 positions in his feature bringing home a 8th place finish. Not a bad night for the #29 of Cole Langley, especially considering how we came home last race, being able to drive it on the trailer at the end of the night was considered a win in and of itself.

What an eventful Saturday night of racing RLR had! Some more tinkering in the shop to try and figure out what to do with Cricket to see if we can’t make her do what we want her too or we might just have to put her in timeout and let ā€œBusterā€ have a turn for a wile…
We want to take a minute to thank our sponsors for their support and contributions to the team so far this year! And a thank you as well to our team for all they do on the track and in the shop! Most importantly we thank the Lord that He allowed us to go out and race and for bringing our divers back home safe! And as always If you missed us last week you can catch us next time at The Line! šŸ
