🍸 Thrifted vs. Styled: The Bar Lamp Edition

I thrifted a lamp… but apparently I also thrifted an entire attitude. 😂

This vintage crystal lamp was already cute, but that little “BAR” glass votive sitting over the bulb? COME ON. 😍🍸

I knew immediately this one needed to live somewhere surrounded by a little bit of vintage kitsch, a little bit of trashy glamour, and just enough questionable decision-making. 😂

So I paired it with my “Trailer Trash” pin-up piece—because yes, I live in a trailer, and I'm absolutely going to make that part of the decor—and a little vintage waitress/bar humor, plus my neon smiley because apparently even the bar needs a personality. 😁🍹

Welcome to my house. The bar is by the front door, because I believe in making a good first impression. 😂🍸

This is exactly why I love thrifting.

You don't always find the perfect piece.

Sometimes you find a weird little piece that makes you think:
“Oh, I know EXACTLY where you're going.”
And suddenly one thrifted lamp becomes an entire damn mood. 🍸✨

WHAT I THRIFTED vs. HOW I STYLED IT. 🐈‍⬛✨

What I thrifted:

One rescue cat named Duchess.
Zero regrets.
Slightly defective. Very opinionated. 😂

How I styled her:

Perched beside an antique Buddha, my mother's antique lamp, in front of a thrifted picture, and sitting pretty on top of an antique Japanese bar cabinet.

Because around here, we don't just decorate.... We curate chaos.

And honestly? Duchess may be the most valuable thing I've ever thrifted. 🖤

My favorite thing about dopamine decor? There are NO RULES.

Old things. New things. Weird things. Things from TEMU. 😂

Things I found thrifting that I absolutely did not need but clearly needed.

This little corner of my kitchen is basically a snapshot of my personality — vintage glass, thrifted treasures, a little kitsch, some shiny gold, strawberries everywhere, and a few modern finds thrown into the mix.

Because why should your home look like it came from one showroom when it can look like YOU?

Mix the old. Mix the new. Mix the cheap. Mix the fabulous. Mix the weird.

That's dopamine decor. That's my kind of decorating. 🍓✨🦚💗

Another Goodwill run… because apparently I have no self-control when it comes to vintage treasures. 👀😂

I went in “just to look” and, naturally, came home with a few little heirlooms that were simply too good to leave behind. ✨

A little vintage. A little weird. A little Hellions-approved. 😈

🐦💙 Y'ALL… LOOK WHAT I FOUND. 💙🐦

I swear I cannot go anywhere without finding something that makes me stop and say, “Well… you're coming home with me.” 😂

Look at this Copeland Spode Vienna Bird salad plate!
That deep cobalt blue.

Those gorgeous hand-painted flowers.

The little bird sitting there like he owns the damn place. 😂

And the gold detailing around the edges…
She's a beauty.

And before you ask—yes, I went down the rabbit hole. 🕵️‍♀️

The back is marked Copeland Spode England, with the original pattern/decorator markings, and she's in beautiful condition.

✨ No chips
✨ No cracks
✨ No flea bites
✨ No major damage

I also found some interesting comps while researching her, and that's one of my favorite parts of this whole treasure-hunting business—figuring out what the heck I've actually found.

Now here's where I need YOUR opinion…

Would you keep her… or flip her? 👀

Because let's be honest, my fellow treasure hunters—we all know that feeling when you see something old and beautiful and immediately start thinking:

“I could sell that…” 😂

I'm putting this little lady at $75 if someone here decides she needs a new home.

WELL… I’VE MADE MY DECISION. 😂💕

Out of everything in this week’s thrift haul, THIS little vintage lady is staying home with me. 👀

Did I need another vase?
Absolutely not.
Did I need another piece of vintage decor?
Also no.
Did I apparently need a fabulous little vintage lady sitting on my kitchen shelf holding my chopsticks?
YES. OBVIOUSLY. 😂

And honestly, I think this is exactly why I love thrifting. Sometimes you find something valuable. Sometimes you find something rare. Sometimes you find something that you can’t even explain why you love…

…but you just KNOW it belongs in your house. ❤️
So instead of putting her away in a cabinet, I gave her a job. 😉
