Opera Naples is an integral part of the community, bringing internationally renowned performers and directors to Southwest Florida, while also encouraging and supporting talented local and regional performers. The opera company produces several works per season in a variety of styles, including Classic Grand Opera, American Opera, contemporary or lesser-known works, and Operetta. Opera Naples’ sch
edule is replete with first-rate artists, including singers who are in regular demand for their services around the world. Returning artists who have become local favorites, include Naples’ own Soprano, Lora Lee Gayer, who was recently seen playing Young Sally in Follies on Broadway at the Kennedy Center, will join in performances with exciting young vocalists and veteran performers making their Opera Naples debuts. In addition to being a professional opera company, Opera Naples is also fundamentally a community-based, non-profit, arts organization rooted in volunteerism, education, and audience engagement. Opera Naples works in partnership with area schools and afterschool programs to offer several educational outreach opportunities for children and young adults each year. Its programs provide young people from diverse backgrounds with access to this unique art form, including its Summer Youth Program, Triangle Choir, Miss Manatee Show, and much more. Opera Naples’ goal is to enrich young lives by offering a positive creative environment that nurtures talent through hands-on experiences and quality performances.
