Dear Friends,

On Sunday, June 14 at three pm, a concert with the premieres of four of my pieces for violin, viola, cello, and piano will take place at Saint Edward’s Episcopal Church at 211 W Center Street in Silverton. No tickets required.

This music reflects on the unfolding of our destiny, the burdens we carry unspoken, and how often hearts are broken, and the steps which we must continue to take anyway. Especially, perhaps, this last.

The Welsh Society of Oregon and Bryn Seion Welsh Church presented a concert by Composer Wicks of his arrangements of Welsh hymns and Welsh secular songs and excerpts from a Welsh folklore-themed opera that he composed based on tales from the Mabinogian. It was a wonderful concert with performers led by Christopher Wicks on piano with six arrangements of traditional Welsh Hymns sung by baritone Jesse Cromer, Piano solos by Wicks, Two Welsh Folk Songs for Cello and Piano featuring Tommi Leinonen on cello, excerpts from the opera Rhiannon's Joys and Sorrows by soprano Catherine van der Salm, and Three Movements after Welsh Folk Songs with Violinist Julie Rundquist and Wicks on piano for all of the above mentioned music.
