Love being in Chicago. Happy guy. There is a song called “ back to the beginning” that is exactly how i feel when here. Fun news from our arranger neal finn w great new charts “ midnight train to georgia” and “ cold, cold heart” by elton and dua lupa on tap. Next week we are in vernon alabama. Wish you all were here! Saturday night we handed out our "Big Band Letter Jackets" to our big band performers of the year. The honorees are Robert Conrad and Loretta Hill. Here is what they helped us accomplish.

Congrats to our two big band members of the year 2024-2025. These people help us thrive. Robert Conrad-trumpet has traveled all over for the big band when he already has a full time job doing quality control for 4 dozen or more Smithfield barbecue stores in NC. He has been the first one there to help set up and the last one there packing up. Robert has taken lots of duties upon himself to assist all sections in the band. He is cheerful & never a complaint. Excellent lead trumpet every week. He keeps everyone working with funny quips til band is loaded & out the door. “Hey band members the adults are wrapping cords.” LOL.

Loretta Hill -vocalist has traveled all over the United States for the big band when she already has a full time job as a nurse and young family. She has driven Kimberly and herself thousands of miles to keep our quality high. She learns new tunes cheerfully & immediately no matter what the style and always has songs down pat at showtime. Her vocals have become top notch whether solo or harmonizing. She has an excellent rapport with the audience during the gig and with well wishers afterwards. She also doesn’t mind telling a musician or two when they are slacking in performance.
