Parka Statement
Our not for profit organization, with the generous gift of time and resource from Watermark Live, has hosted Party In Your Parka for the past six straight years celebrating all that is great about winter in Michigan while recognizing the birthday of our great State of Michigan. Whether it was 5 degrees or 50 we celebrated together in a way that no one else could or had done before!
Unfortunately, this is an event that takes a tremendous amount of time and resource to put on and currently beyond the capabilities of our staff and site at this time. Our organization has decided to not host the event this winter so staff and volunteers can concentrate on our core mission of providing quality recreational facilities and programming to our many visitors. Our limited spare time is being spent working on new exciting initiatives that will bring year-round recreation to the Complex in the form of ziplines, canopy tours, rock climbing and more!
Not to worry! You can experience the magic of winter and spirit of Parka with the many winter activities we offer every day of the week weather permitting. It was said by of the original masterminds behind Parka during the planning for our first year event that “Things will just happen naturally” In that same Parka spirit we suggest you grab a group of friends, get your parka on, and head to the complex and create your own Party In Your Parka by skiing, skating, snowshoeing, or luging. Afterwards depart our facility and take advantage of the many great music venues in Muskegon County has to offer whether it being one of our great breweries or pubs.
Thanks for your understanding and support! We are looking at our options to possibly revamp the event for 2019 and introduce a new and exciting concept of Party In Your Parka.
