It’s Memorial Day weekend so it’s officially summer camping season in Michigan, where we drag all our toys Up North, small or large. Best state in the country for camping and out door sports. Rain or shine, Michiganders know how to enjoy our Michigan State Parks and all they offer. Here’s to a wonderful and safe summer.

These Dog Days of summer would not be possible without the men and women who gave everything for this freedom. Let’s not let them down.

Current situation. Sights and sounds. Turn everything off and let God serenade you with His pitter-patter of rain as it gently falls on His forest. Not the weather we want, but God knows what we need. Time to slow down with a good book. Maybe even his Word.

Is it just me or does anyone else need a reminder summer is coming? I’m yearning for warm waters, blue sky’s, fluffy clouds and boats. Muskegon State Park: Deep water channel. From my project this summer. There’s nothing like a little a stroll down this channel from Muskegon Lake to Lake Michigan during a warm sunset. Finished off with a beautiful view of the Muskegon South Pierhead Lighthouse. The channel borders Muskegon State Park and the camp ground on one side and the City of Muskegon on the other side. Come and see . Just had Cataract surgery so taking some time off. Hope to be back soon.

Winter kayaking anyone? One of my favorite Muses. Proud Lake Recreation Area and the Huron River. With the warmer weather much of the snow has melted revealing the forest and river marshes many earthy colored textures, just in time for a modest ice storm to cap it all off. The only thing that could make it better would have been a burner sunset, but I’ll settle for this icy joy in the tree tops. The earthy colors revealed by the snow melt help to highlight the icy branches of the trees.
