Over the past few days, we had the opportunity to meet a wonderful group of people who shared their time, their curiosity, and their willingness to tell an important story.

Thank you to everyone who came out to audition for A Piece of My Heart. Whether you've spent years on stage or this was your very first audition, we appreciate the courage it takes to walk into a room and say "yes" to something new.

We're taking the next few days to thoughtfully review auditions and begin building our ensemble.

"Is there a role for men?"

Absolutely.

While A Piece of My Heart centers the stories of six women who served during the Vietnam War, those stories would not be complete without the many men whose lives intersected with theirs.

We're looking for one versatile male actor to portray a variety of characters throughout the production. This role calls for someone who can shift tone, energy, and perspective as the story unfolds, helping bring the larger world of the play to life.

If you enjoy the challenge of playing multiple roles and helping shape a powerful ensemble story, we'd love to meet you at auditions.

🎭 Meet the characters of A Piece of My Heart

These aren't fictional superheroes. They're ordinary people navigating extraordinary circumstances.

Their stories remind us that history isn't just made by those on the front lines - it is also shaped by the people whose contributions, sacrifices, and experiences have too often gone unheard.

From the disciplined and determined Martha, to the spirited MaryJo, the heartfelt Sissy, the thoughtful Whitney, the independent Leeann, and the strong-willed Steele, these characters represent the many different ways people respond to life-changing moments.

We are looking for actors ready to bring these stories to life with honesty, curiosity, and care.

What about rehearsals?

We know auditions happen right as school starts, fall activities begin, and calendars fill up.

We're planning our rehearsal schedule with that in mind and want to make participation as manageable as possible.

If scheduling is something you're worried about, don't let it keep you from auditioning. We'd love to talk with you about what to expect and answer any questions.

Sometimes the hardest part is simply showing up to audition. We hope you'll take that first step.
