We had great performances at the Genesee Country Village Museum's German Heritage Day and joined with the Central NY Alphorns for the Oswego portch Festival. Pictures are coming.

The alphorn or alpenhorn or alpine horn is a distinctively long horn instrument carved from solid softwood, generally spruce but sometimes pine and used by mountain dwellers in Switzerland and elsewhere. Similar wooden horns were used for communication in most mountainous regions of Europe, from the French Alps to the Carpathians. This is a footage of the World Record with 508 alphorn players on the Gornergrat, Switzerland.

Take down the date !!! We will again be participating in the Genesee Country Village & Museum's German Heritage Day festivities on September 17, 2016.

We will be performing in the Great Meadow at about 11:00 and in the village square about 2:30. Come and hear our traditional Swiss Alphorn music, plus a few locally popular tunes, all in three part harmony. Everyone is welcome to give playing the Alphorn a try.
