Migration to Ohio has already begun for this pair of wood ducks along with 5 more of his friends. This is another chase pair, this time in wood ducks. Wood ducks can be pretty active, lots of fighting and chasing. This one is set to work as a pair on a jerk line or individually. When I make my own, I'll likely put swim keels on the lead bird. I'm going to call the pose on the lead bird, "skedaddle". Wood ducks, wigeons and many other birds of all kinds have a lot of fight in them. I like to design around species behavior to get that animation with otherwise stationary poses. The second bird is a scolding pose which I've been doing for years. Decoys should tell a story, there are plenty of tin soldier plastic decoys out there, I just like a little more attitude.

ALL ARE SOLD. We also have a couple pairs of wood ducks. They are $115 each decoy plus shipping.

The first wood ducks are finished and we are very happy with them. These are all sold already, and so are the next dozen or so. It will be a bit before there would be any excess wood ducks available on a random day. If you’d like to be part of the list that we contact before posting up publicly, please send a message and we will get you added! They’ll be $110 each, plus shipping.

I realize the music on this video stops before it’s over. But I promise the end result is still satisfying!

Hello everyone. Caleb here, and I wanted to share my dream with our customers and those that are following but haven’t made the leap into our premium decoys yet.

***If you have purchased and received decoys from us in the past, we would greatly appreciate it if you would leave a review for us on this page.***

For the last 20 years, dad (Don) has been constantly improving upon the process of making decoys, landing us where we are today. But I think it’s important to note that the biggest leaps in innovation, quality, realism, and performance have happened in the last 2 years.

We used to sell “how to” DVD’s and I’m sure there’s still many of them floating around. All of the information on those videos will definitely help make a good decoy. But because of what dad, a few friends, and I have discovered over the last 2 years, it kind of makes all of that information elementary.

The fact of the matter is that dad is one of the greatest decoy carvers, designers, and innovators of our time.

My dream is to create and build a sustaining decoy production business to allow dad’s designs and innovation live on forever… in every spread across the country. He’s taught me everything I know about carving, sculpting, structural stability in water, flocking, airbrushing, etc. The 20,000 hours that I’ve spent behind an airbrush likely only scratches the surface of the time dad has been perfecting his craft.

I don’t yet know how I can pull this off, but I do know that we need to get as many people on board as we can. As our work crosses paths with new people everyday, it will be helpful for those new folks to see real reviews from real customers.

***So I’ll ask again, if you’ve received decoys from us recently or in the past, please leave us a review on this page.***

Though dad and I are artists with a product worthy of selling… we are not business men. We are not skilled in finance or administration work. We basically know just enough to make sure we get paid 🤣. If you, or anyone you know, could help or give insight on how i could make this dream become reality, please shoot us a private message, or direct this to someone you know, and let’s talk about.

I'm cleaning up some old orders. This pair of eclipse pintail drakes was a pretty big airbrush challenge. An excersise in fine lining. I inset the reference photo I was given to work from.
