Something to do while quarantined?

Minglewood Farm and Nature Preserve

Minglewood Farm and Nature Preserve

Dear Friends of Minglewood,
We are greatly saddened for our nation and the world as the Coronavirus is diverting the way we live our daily lives and effecting so many in dangerous ways. As you can imagine all of Minglewood's school visits, speaking engagements for garden clubs and master gardeners, field trips, along with our beloved Earth Day Fair are now canceled. We are also canceling the public events here at the farm for now, our egg dyeing, mask making, Ken Bridle's nature hike and our teachers open house. We will reschedule the open house for teachers and bring Ken back later in the season. We are also planning to bring our friend Ken Course back to Minglewood this year for a Fungi Discovery Day at Minglewood, always a popular event!
So many of you are lovers of the outdoors as we are here at Minglewood Preserve. We encourage you to continue to get outside for fresh air and walks where you feel comfortable, keeping in mind the 6 ft. allowance that the CDC is recommending.
We here at Minglewood believe that this is the time to plant your Coronavirus Victory Garden! Growing some of your own food with your children is a greatly rewarding adventure. I often tell our our young visitors that you do not have to have a farm or a garden, that you can plant into a pot on your porch and grow your own salad garden, tomatoes and more! I even imagine that you can order your soil & compost at the local garden center and they should have it ready for your pickup! They will have your seeds too but seed shopping is often fun and educational thru catalogs and the internet!
We will be staying in touch, offering ideas for you and your family to help you to play and explore in your yards and less populated green spaces, throughout this challenging time.
Minglewood is still planning our two Day Camps for this summer, The Outdoor Explorers Camp, June 22-25 for 8-12 year olds and Minglewood Creative Naturalist Workshop, July 20-24 for 12-17 year olds. We will post these camps shortly.
We wish you all well through this very trying time. Please stay tuned, Minglewood will help where we can. 🌱💚☀️
Most of all, remember that nature is what sustains all of us and nature can be the balm that helps us through this difficult time.
In that spirit here are some of Minglewood's early native wildflowers that are beginning to bloom here on the preserve.

Due to the National recommendations from the Covid-19 outbreak, we will be postponing and re-scheduling all classes!

Folks who have paid for spots can choose to be refunded or remain in the class they chose at a later date.

We are sorry for any inconvenience.

Who We Are

The Arts Hall strives to foster imagination and creativity in our studio by helping everyone create beautiful art. Whether you’re coming in to spend the day or to truly exploit your talent, you’ll find a blank canvas awaiting you where the world is your oyster. We are opening our doors in 2020 and will be creating art and forming artists.

At The Arts Hall, we understand the importance of support in an artist’s life. Our community serves as an educational branch and support system for all artists who visit our The Arts Hall by being a special place where their creative juices can flow freely. We’re dedicated to our artists, and we provide them with the appropriate training and tools they need to succeed. It’s our mission to ensure that the arts remain strong, and to offer classes to students of all levels - introducing newcomers to art and creativity, and refining the techniques of even the most veteran artists.

We believe every artist needs an adequate space in which to create, and that space should inspire and support their creative process. We also understand how important it is for the place to have just the right environment, and that is what we strive to provide at The Arts Hall. If you’re looking for a place that nurtures your artistic journey, look no further: we’re here and we can’t wait to see what you can create.
