In the fall, a small but growing number of hobbyists across the globe start pulling lights, forms, blowups, miles of extension cords, controllers, computers, wiring, and other odd and ends out of closets, attics, and sheds. Using D-light and Light-O-Rama controllers, E.31 DMX bridge
/controllers, Xlights, and the LOR S4 software, a fifteen minute lighting show can easily consume thousands of hours (and dollars) to build, program, and display. Preparation begins at the end of the previous season when all the surplus lights go on sale. You know that you are serious when you go to Wal-Mart the day after Christmas to fill up two shopping carts with cases of lights at 75% off. After months of programming, the lights start going on the house in late October with a tight schedule of roughly three and a half weeks to get it all installed and ready. This year we are bringing the excitement to the Riverwood subdivision in Moss Point, MS. At last count we were over 45,000 lights, 2432 Channels, and nearly an hour of music. We accept donations for St Jude and Make a Wish Foundation; two charities dedicated to children. We also like to make people smile, and our lights bring lots of those.
