So many times with all the places and things I’ve seen or captured with a camera, I tend to forget how magical, unique, and rare it was to be able to see. Especially, with as dry as it’s been the flowers are simply not as abundant nor as vibrant. And off in the distance like the mountains in this photo is the dream of seeing so many new places - I hope it happens one day.

The blue skies, the gray, the ones we’ve chased to see that instant when they mimic flames. I dreamt of having someone to do it with. To talk nonsense with until that moment would finally occur. To laugh about only things we know. To get lost in something that’s just us. My gratitude to have found and to continue to enjoying and grow with, makes me speechless. I’ve won it all. The milky way trail. I recall walking into the canyon in the dark. Curving and winding lower into it, I decided to stop here and shoot just before the break of day arrived. I’ve taken many blue hour photos, along with many milky way photos. Combining them together accurately and seamlessly has been the challenge, but I do think I’m improving!

The crescent moon captivated me. I have rarely had luck capturing the moon the way I wanted, but I’ve always been adamant to try. Not too far from the house is the spot we went, reminiscing how I had once did this with a fellow friend. Although long gone; I knew he was around. He was with me so many times in this same place, and it amazes me even till now, I still search all around just in case I see him sitting behind me just watching the moment unfold. The cold cut deep, but I still wait for that blue bird to appear - I know it will one day.

As the sun was setting the mountains began to get a red glow, and I seen a herd of wild horses near their base. I thought to myself “that would be a good shot”, never really thinking I’d get the opportunity. But a small herd go road trail did lead in the appropriate direction. Sure enough I got within a couple hundred yards of the group and this lone stallion remained with its eyes set on us, standing guard while the rest gradually walked away. I imagined a cowboy standing, prepared to draw if I made the wrong move.
