A New Mural Coming to Morrison! 😆🎨🚒
Be on the look out for a brand new mural in downtown Morrison! CAPA is sponsoring a mural that is set to adorn the Route 30 side of the Morrison Fire Department Building. In honor of their 150th anniversary of serving this community, the design will offer not only an amazing artwork for our town, but also honoring the history & future of the MFD. Creativity, beauty, and art centered improvements to Morrison’s downtown have always been one of CAPA’s goals. In taking a break this year from Paint the Town, this is one of many steps in the year long goals for this committee.
Who is the muralist, you ask? Meet Nick Gjonola and his girlfriend, Amanda of Midwest Murals! Nick is a native of Polo, Illinois and was one of Jamie Harmon’s first art students! As a 2001 graduate of Polo High School, he found himself with a brand new art teacher in her first year of teaching high schoolers. He went on to pursue a career in the art field and decided upon painting. He does everything from small custom paintings to extremely large murals, including chain restaurants, town murals, and school interiors. We have a feeling you will be amazed as you watch the process.
