Nature Inspired Paintings by Jenny L. Jacobs

Jenny has been painting since elementary school. Successful school painting contests kept her interest in art and her desire to grow as an artist. Jenny views her art as “wanting to make beauty out of nothing”.

Jenny described an afternoon conversation she had with her brother while driving in the country. Jenny said they passed a cornfield with only straw-colored stalks and yellow flowers. Jenny told her brother when she saw the field, she wanted to get out her brushes and canvas and paint it. Jenny said her brother responded, “I just want to get the weeds out”. Jenny’s perspective of beauty in nature is captured on the canvas.

Jenny’s favorite artists come from the Impressionism and Post Impressionism eras. She has been influenced by the works of Van Gogh, Monet, Monat, Camille Pissaro, Paul Gaugin, Berthe Morriset, Mary Cassat, as well as English Romantics, John Singer Sargant and Willian Turner.

Jenny considers herself a decorator of nature. Jenny enjoys plein aire painting. Jenny uses natural light and shading to guide her brush as she depicts her subject.
