Sponsor Highlight- Produce to the People

The program is simple:

We bring produce to the area food pantries. Some of the produce is grown by us and some is donated by others in the community. How to get involved- onate produce from your garden or farm by emailing us

We ask for at least 24 hours notice to arrange a pick up, but can occasionally come the same day.

• Intentionally grow extra plants to donate the produce to food pantries

We all get that six pack of plants, but really only want 3 for ourselves. Grow the other 3 for the food bank and know that we will come get all the extras. You can provide the plants or we can provide plants from those donated to the program.

• Sign up to “adopt” plants that are donated to us

We always have way more plants donated than we have space for, so having people to take some plants home and then donate the produce back to the program will allow for more production.

• Donate your extra plants in the spring

Have too many seedlings? We accept plant donations to be grown specifically for the food pantries. We will find them a good home or plant them at the Lorch Community Farm Garden. Drive to pick up donations from backyard gardens or farms and deliver to an area food pantry. We will give you all the information for where to pick up and drop off when we need you.

• Start a program where you live

Get a few friends and neighbors organized to take your extra veggies to a food pantry near you. Even just one household is going to make a difference, so start with your own.

Coming to the Morris Bluegrass Festival stage this July 4th. The Hosmer Mountain Boys bring to the stage their interpretation of how bluegrass music sounded and looked in the 1950s and work to take you back in time to experience what made so many fall in love with Bluegrass! Like most bands of that era, they even have a sponsor in their hometown, an old-fashioned, local soda company, Hosmer Mountain Soda, much like Flatt & Scruggs had with Martha White Flour.   When you see the band off stage, they are happy to talk with you about the history of bluegrass and vintage instruments.  You’ll find them all around New England playing festivals and gazebos in the warmer months, and concerts and bars in the colder months. Located at 21 Higbie Rd Morris CT.
