We inherit more than names, photographs, and traditions. We inherit stories.

Stories of where we come from. What our people survived. What they built. What they celebrated. What they dreamed about and sometimes, what they never had the chance to say.

The question is what we choose to remember, preserve, and pass forward.

What part of your history are you carrying with you? 🤎

Black Stories Matter. Now, Then and Always.

There is something you’ve been meaning to put on the page.

Maybe it’s your family’s history. A memoir. A collection of poems. A book you’ve been thinking about for years. Or simply a story you know you need to tell.

From the Mountaintop is a one-day writing summit created for Black women who are ready to make space for their stories—whether you’ve been writing for years or aren’t quite ready to call yourself a writer yet.

Join us Saturday, October 10 in Montgomery for two intimate, author-led workshops, lunch, and a day of writing and community.

Only 30 participants total, with just 15 women in each workshop.

Financial assistance is available for those who need it.

Tap Registerto reserve your seat.

Due to a change in venue ability (the house got sold, y’all!), we have made the difficult decision to postpone and reschedule the October edition of Put It On The Page. Creating a thoughtful, quality experience is always our priority, and we won’t get there by rushing. But we still want to connect with you next month.

For a taste of the retreat experience, join us for From The Mountaintop, a curated, one-day writing summit on October 10th, designed to inspire and nourish Black women writers of all types. Check out the post and register soon at www.mgmsankofa.com!
