Honey, listen to me. Some folks won’t be happy until they’ve dragged every blessed soul into the ditch right along with em.
I had to sit myself down today and remember a hard truth: You cannot let someone else ruin your peace just because they can’t find theirs.
Now, we were raised to be polite. We’re taught to fix a plate, pour a tall glass of sweet tea, and lend an ear to anyone going through a rough patch. But there is a whole world of difference between being a good neighbor and letting someone track red clay mud all over your clean carpet.
Lately, it seems like some people are just walking around like a storm cloud looking for a place to rain. They’re eaten up with their own misery, and instead of dealing with it, they want to dump that whole bucket of chaos right on your front steps. They’ll try to stir the pot, poke the bear, and test your sanctification until you're ready to lose your religion.
But here’s the gospel truth: Unhappy people will try to drag you into their tornado because they don't know how to sit still in the sunshine. And you are under absolutely no obligation to get soaking wet just to keep them company.
So today, I’m just going to smile, say "bless your heart," and keep on stepping. My peace of mind is far too expensive to be handed over for free to somebody who’s just looking for a fuss. If they want to stew in their own juices, they can go right ahead and boil. As for me? I’m going to protect my joy, leave the drama where it belongs, and let the good Lord handle the rest. 🍋✨
