I’m very happy to be included in this year’s NOMAD contemporary art pop-up in Torrance.

Combined with TRYST (where worldwide artist-run spaces come together), this is a truly enjoyable and varied experience. I’ll be showing my piece Conch, Redact, Redact, which is another aspect of my ongoing Burn Pile project. Its audio component was made by our friend, composer Anna Dembska.

I look forward to seeing any-and-all there!

details of Schatten Parcour, for Zeitz, Germany. A psychic collaboration between a California mountain cabin and a half-ghost town in Eastern Germany — for which I created a fabric design and a cabin interior of an imaginary Zeitz memorabilia collector in the Sierras.

Project sketch: Wildflowers of California. Trying out techniques using dry pigments into wet printing ink in a hopeless attempt to achieve symmetry.

Project sketch: WUI Tree (Wildland Urban Interface Tree) would be a roadside sculptural installation of primarily lightweight paper lumber facsimiles, with a structural supporting foundation of (painted) actual lumber. I project this to be about 10 or 12 feet high, and 5 or 6 feet in circumference at the base. It would be decorated with a range of both painted and block printed take-offs on wildland signage - of animal crossings, winding road warnings, admonitions to prepare for wildfire, etc.

Punch Table, as originally shown at Memphis Social in 2013, now awaiting restoration processes.

Internal experience changes through social interaction. With Punch Table I set up an art situation whereby viewers inadvertently caused punch to spill and stain a carefully prepared tablecloth, on which I had spent months creating a design in silver leaf on white fabric of motifs representing nature-love, and shyness. This staining happened as a result of their approaching the table to look at it, and perhaps to accept a cup of punch.
