Music has always amazed me, not because I can create it, but because I can't. I've never had the talent to write a song, play an instrument, or bring melodies to life. That's why I have such admiration for musicians, especially gifted lyricists. The ability to transform life's stories, emotions, and truths into words that dance with melody is a remarkable form of artistry.
What I'm looking forward to most this summer is experiencing new music. If you know me, you know my taste in music is all over the map. From folk-inspired favorites like The Avett Brothers, to today's country stars like Cody Johnson and Luke Combs, to country legends such as Don Williams, Conway Twitty and Johnny Paycheck. And don't even get me started on my love of '90s rap. Just ask my kids...or better yet, don't... but I can still throw down some Dre and Big Poppa when the occasion calls for it! 😆
I've never met Dakotah Faye, and I'll admit I haven't had the chance to see him perform yet. But if there's one thing I've learned, it's that discovering a new artist can be just as exciting as seeing an old favorite. Based on everything I've heard, I'm expecting a great show and can't wait to experience his music for the first time tomorrow night.
