I was at opening night of the The Hobbit at Theatre in the Round. What a fun night at the theatre. This play is true to the J.R.R. Tolkien novel. Join Biblo Baggins on a once in a lifetime adventure.

Last night I had a magical time at the National Tour of the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. It is playing at Hennepin Arts Orpheum Theatre in downtown Minneapolis through May 17, 2026.

Over the weekend I went the GREAT Theatre production of Disney’s Frozen: The Broadway Musical at the Paramount Center for the Arts in downtown St. Cloud. It was a fun and well produced production, based on the Disney movie of the same name. The musical runs through Sunday May 3, 2026. Go to www.greattheatre.org for tickets.

Over the weekend, I was at the matinee on the closing day of The SpongeBob Musical at the Marshall Performing Arts Center on the University of Minnesota-Duluth campus, which is home to the UMD Department of Theatre. It was also a fun time to hang out with my fellow alumni from my time at UMD.

Busy weekend of theatre for me. I went to Children's Theatre Company production of The Wizard of Oz in Minneapolis. Then went to the University of Minnesota-Duluth Theatre Department production of SpongeBob SquarePants The Musical. Also went to the GREAT Theatre production of Disney’s Frozen in downtown St. Cloud. I’ll be working on reviews for all of these productions.

Great article about actress Sarah Day retiring from American Players Theatre after 40 years. I have had the pleasure of seeing her grace the APT stages since I started going to APT in 2008.

From ingenue to grand dame, the Madison native has played dozens of roles at the classical Spring Green repertory theater.
