When I spoke with Wilmah last week we talked about several things. Music, of course. But also the Buffalo Bills. And ice cream. And that naturally led me to the story about the time Facebook decided I bore a striking resemblance to Bills superfan Ryan French’s love handles. You have to watch the whole video to get it. It’s hilarious.
Look — I’m a Vikings fan. Wilmah is a Bills band. Between us, zero Super Bowl wins. Eight combined losses. That kind of shared suffering bonds cities in ways nothing else can.
But Facebook took it further. Scanned a crowd shot, found Ryan absolutely thriving in the stands, and said — yeah, that’s Paul. I gave myself a complex for months.
Ryan clearly knows Buffalo though. And Buffalo’s ice cream scene? That man has done serious, dedicated field research. Respect.
