WARM is a pioneering feminist art collective that was founded in 1973. It operated the largest women’s art gallery in the country in Minneapolis from 1976 to 1991. I became involved much later as a mentor in the program. This year is a celebration of the artists who founded and participated in WARM. I am participating in an exhibit at Form and Content Gallery, the opening is today, you are all invited! More information is on the card attached. Beginnings of my new commission. I wanted to share my process. There is excitement when I first draw in the image, I’m going to be painting. This is a special place, an escape from the city for my client. I will continue to share as I develop this painting, which I will be using for a demo during Art-A-Whirl! Mountain Home – Nepal, 16 x20, oil. This painting was based on travel memories from Nepal. I hiked on a glorious sunny day, saw how people lived, cared for their animals, and engaged with school children. The soft, diffused golden light bathed everything in the late afternoon. The hazy mountains created depth and atmosphere. My goal was to capture that moment in time from my memories.
