Swing Dance Wednesday Night Twin Cities The Twin Cities longest running weekly Swing dance featuring great live music. Founded & hosted by Shannon & Bill Butler.

We start with our 7:00 pm dance lesson, followed by live music from some of the best dance bands in the land. The Twin Cities longest running weekly swing dance night featuring live swing music. Founded with us, Shannon and Bill Butler, in 2005 at the iconic Lee's Liquor Lounge. We've moved the night to the Eagles #34 and love their big, beautiful dance floor! ht off with a swing and stroll dance lesson at 7pm, followed by live music provided by a rotating cast of some of the best bands in the region. We DJ the band breaks to keep you dancing all night long. The Eagles has lots of seating, free parking, full bar, dining available until 9pm and some of the friendliest dancers around. In response to rising operating costs, labor expenses, food costs, taxes, inflation, and changing customer spending habits, The Eagles 34 has raised the room use fees and taxes. Like many venues and organizations, they are facing challenges created by a changing marketplace where people are going out less often and spending differently than they did in the past.

Some of you may know I have been in negotiations with the venue, seeking ways to keep our pricing accessible, and the band payments in an acceptable range. I have worked hard to keep our cover charge affordable, as I do not want financial concerns to impede access to our dance community. Unfortunately given the sudden rate increase, I have been left with no choice but to increase the entry fee to $15 in hopes that will be sufficient to keep Swing Dance Wednesday Nights and Miss Shannon's Sock Hops going.

The cover charge increase goes into effect July 1st, 2026.

Thank you all for your continued support of Swing Dance Wednesday Night Twin Cities, Miss Shannon's Sock Hop, and the Fridays Swing events over the years. I am grateful for you all and thank you for your support of live music and live entertainment in the Twin Cities.
