At the memorials for Renee Good last night and Alex Pretti today I was among stranger-friends who had gathered to share in grief and anger and honor these two incredible people. I’m also grieving the at least 7 others who have also died in ICE custody, but whose deaths were not filmed. Singing together, crying together, holding on to each other to comfort one another, I experienced something I’ve experienced a lot lately: our connection, our oneness, our divine human-ness that connects us to each one. This violence has only cemented that connection. I am leaving this here as a kind of offering in memory of Renee Good and Alex Pretti and to honor all the heroes who are here among us in Minneapolis. 💔🎵🫂
