This thing on? 👀👀✨

It’s been a minute, but we have some exciting news to share!!

Planet Firebomb has been awarded a 2025 Minnesota State Arts Board Arts Experiences grant to fund a brand-new quarterly event series: Aurica’s Four Eras — a celebration of Black joy, futurism, music, and community care.

We are deeply honored to be among the those selected to receive funding for the second time now out of hundreds of applicants.

What does this mean?

It means from June 2025 through May 2026, Planet Firebomb will host four, themed dance parties —each one inspired by a different sonic and cultural era:
• The Horseman of War (90s Hip-Hop & R&B)
• The Horseman of Abundance (Disco & House)
• The Horse of Decadence (80s New Wave & Post-Disco)
• The Horseman of Rebirth (A genre-melding, ancestral future of all three)

It means DJs, performers, photographers, designers, and staff will receive guaranteed pay.

This grant allows us to continue building spaces where Black q***r imagination is not only celebrated—but resourced.

You’ll see this acknowledgment shared at every event:
“This project is made possible in part by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.”

Deepest gratitude to everyone who’s poured into this vision since day one.
And a special shoutout to our founder and creative director Ariesfirebomb, who submitted this application during the blur of last year’s Pride season while still holding down community, clients, and creativity.

We can’t wait to show you what’s next.
The future is Black. The future is now. And it dances.

I’ve let a lot of things slide over the past 5 years that I’ve been a DJ. You think I talk too much on here? You think I’m too opinionated? Baby, you have no idea that there is a **whole lot** I don’t say. I’m not a bitch that complains. I find solutions and keep s**t moving. I don’t let s**t phase me. I’m really chill af. For a bunch of people who claim to hate how whiteness and heteronormativity labels them, they let AntiBlackness run like Sha’carri.

I’ve stood behind people, lifted them up, backed them financially, supported their dreams both in business and nightlife, only for them to let their **Anti-Blackness** stand in the way of what we could’ve built together.

People I booked when they couldn’t even mix a track right, and still paid them what they were worth. People I tried to help get into **grad school**, who turned around and spat in my face—figuratively and literally—tearing down what I worked so hard to create.

But let me tell you this: I’m **done** playing games. I don’t do envy. I don’t do bitter, weird, shady behavior. I have strong convictions, and you might not like how I speak, but guess what? Who fu***ng cares. You’re an adult. Use your fu***ng words if you don’t like something or someone. Why pretend? People have repeatedly attempted shady s**t with me, with their comes out aging twinks as cheerleaders, for the longest time. But **This weekend?** Y’all went too far.

It’s a wrap for these so-called "friends" a lot of you have in the nightlife and DJ community.

I don’t need this. They do. It burns them up that I am doing what they can’t. That I have the space they can’t possibly tap into. That I’ve supported and built the community that they could NEVER have.

And that’s exactly why I’m about to take everything they thought they did have —**and then some**.

Planet Firebomb? Baby, it’s officially in retrograde. Let the fire burn away all this s**t. Good luck finding your way in the dark.

Apparently there is a POC town hall going on right now. I found out about it last minute so I won’t be in attendance, but I hope it’s successful. Seriously, I do.

Now, I only got one thing to say:

We *have* to stop putting white folks' dollars and feelings over the actual needs of Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and Asian communities. I’ve seen too many cases where folks are straight-up disrespecting each other just to protect whiteness, and honestly, that’s wild.

From my perspective as a Black Q***r person, there’s a *serious* lack of trust in our community—and it’s not just gonna vanish overnight. Instead of being real with each other and talking through our differences, people throw shade or straight-up ice each other out of shared spaces. Look, we don’t all have to be best friends, but there’s gotta be respect because there’s strength (and money) in numbers.

Black Americans have something like $1.6 trillion in spending power, but we’re still falling behind other groups when it comes to financial wellness. Now think about that in terms of q***r events and nightlife here? We’re out here accepting crumbs while folks are making *thousands*—sometimes *millions*—off our Black bodies and talent, especially in the Twin Cities over the last decade. And y’all would rather keep that energy than pull another Black person aside and hash it out? That’s pure foolishness.

Look, everybody in this city knows I have a mouth, and I’m not afraid to use it. I stand by everything I say 1000%, but at the end of the day, we all deserve to be treated and supported fairly.

A lot of y’all want community support, but haven’t even worked out your own stuff with the people *inside* the community. Let’s be real—some of y’all don’t even have Black folks in your circles like that. So how do you expect the community to show up for you when you haven’t even checked your own anti-Blackness?

I’ll end with this: I’ve extended the olive branch plenty of times to have real conversations with people who claim to know my character, but very few have actually taken me up on it. My DMs are always open if you wanna talk or I’ll give you my number.

If we want to see a thriving q***r nightlife for POC, especially for Black folks, we gotta get our act together and let go of the ego. Period.
