Candles have been a reoccurring symbol in my artistic practice for many years now. With everything feeling so uncertain in the world, I’ve recently begun doing individual candle studies. They are a symbol of hope. Finding light within the darkness. They embody the triumph of light over darkness. Never give up hope 🕯️

I have an exciting announcement I’ve been waiting to share! In February, I officially moved studios and am now in the Solar Arts Building in NE Minneapolis! 🎉. I’ve loved Solar Arts for years and it’s such a blessing to join the wonderful community of artists they host. Here’s to the next adventure!

Hello hello 👋 for those of you who don’t know me personally, my name is Rose Aileen Cooper 🌹 My studio name is Rose’s Imaginarium, and I’m a painter based in Minneapolis, MN. My work reflects themes of wonder, womanhood, finding light within darkness, strength IN femininity, and embracing YOUR badassery :) I just recently did something super scary… I QUIT MY DAY JOB!!!! I never thought this day would come and I feel beyond blessed to start my journey of becoming a full time artist 👩‍🎨 To say this is terrifying would be a complete understatement. I have no idea what this next year will look like and nerve wracking but incredibly exciting at the same time. I’m beyond grateful for the unwavering support from my community to take the plunge! I’ll be launching more original paintings, prints, and stickers on my website soon so be on the lookout for that announcement soon! Here goes nothing! 🫶🏻

And that’s a wrap on Art-A-Whirl 2024! 🎉🎨 Huge thank you to everyone who came to see my work over the weekend! 🙏 And an even bigger thank you to for being an incredible booth mate! Still running on a creative high from the weekend 🙃 🎨 I have so many exciting ideas that I can’t wait to create and showcase next year. This painting makes me think of the rule: “we never, never, ever… use the big light!” One of my favorite themes to incorporate in my work is light 💡 in total darkness. The drama it brings can better convey the present emotions and brings so much more to a painting.

Currently experimenting with seeing how I can turn this triptych into a single print 🤪 Maybe it doesn’t look as bad as I think it does 😅 but this is not an easy task. Especially when the original canvases are all 4” by 12” ugh ugh ugh Hopefully this print will be ready by Art-A-Whirl!
