Since I have a lot of new followers (and I can’t sleep cause I had an energy drink at like 8pm lol), I thought I’d do an introduction post 🙂

This is me (and my friend’s cat Prince William). I go by the name Jack! Currently I live in Minneapolis — I grew up in a rural area my whole childhood and I have always wanted to live in/near a city so I really love it here. ❤️

My favorite mediums to use at the moment are paint markers and alcohol markers!

One thing I’ve been learning about lately is how lighting affects colors that i see in the world around me. Once you start looking at the world with that perspective, everything feels… magical. Seeing the morning sun dancing on trees & watching the orange evening sunlight flickering on my friends’ faces - magic. I know it’s cliche, but it definitely makes me appreciate the little things in life even more. There is magic all around us, we just have to look for it sometimes. ✨

Hello! Do you ever wonder how you can help the people in Gaza but don’t know where to start?? I have a solution for you 🙂 I am adopting a fundraiser to help my friend Mohi and his family find safety as they live in Gaza. This is a portrait I created of Mohi and his chronically ill mother to raise awareness for them. Please SHARE & DONATE, anything helps!!! 🍉🇵🇸

Here is Mohi’s story:

“I am 23 years old. I live under the bombardment and constant aggression against Gaza. Here we struggle with a life of constant death and loss. I lost a large part of my family. We also lost our house in which we used to live. We were displaced more than 10 times from one place to another, searching for safety. In fact, there is no safe place. We had many ambitions and hopes. I graduated from university and intended to travel, work, and many other things. But the war came and destroyed all that. We also had a source of livelihood and clothing shops.

The occupation completely destroyed and burned them all, and we no longer have any source of livelihood. We also lack access to food and drinking water. We suffered from many diseases, such as hepatitis and malnutrition due to the lack of a suitable environment for life, and I had surgery to remove the gallbladder. Here we live in hunger and fear. My mother also suffers from chronic diseases and we cannot find a cure for them. Our lives are in danger. Therefore, I hope you can help, even if just a little, as this will help us get out of death.”

Made another piece to raise awareness for Gaza. My stomach felt sick the whole time I was drawing this but I never want to be desensitized to the reality so many people are facing in Gaza rn.

This baby girl suffered injuries from a Israeli air strike on their house.

If you aren’t already, please start following accounts that share info about Gaza and the gen0cide that is currently happening. If you want to be aware, but don’t know how to get involved - opening your eyes and educating yourself is a fantastic way to start.

Today’s prompt from is Exotic. I couldn’t think of what to draw so I asked some friends of mine and two of them immediately said the word Exotic makes them think of the Tiger King. 😂

For this one, I used my paint markers and they are so cool & fun to work with. They work almost like gouache paint, but it’s way less messy and easier to control!

I had long hair my whole life. I only had it cut twice as a child because I accidentally got gum stuck in it once, and another time there was a mat that I didn’t take care of, so that got cut off. Other than that, i was never allowed to even trim my hair for religious reasons. So the first thing I did when I left my church was - I cut my hair ! Very quickly over a short period of time, my hair kept getting shorter and shorter. One day, I got a high skin fade done professionally and that was when I felt like I discovered myself and saw who I really was in the mirror. 🖤 ✂️

This was a heavy one to make 😞

I saw a post from on instagram yesterday asking artists to use their art and platform to speak up for Palestine, so I will be doing more of these to fundraise money and raise awareness for the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund! I saw a YouTube video recently of someone purposely making “bad” art and the chaos on her paper actually turned out to be really beautiful. Personally I think all art is good art because it means you created something ! And something is better than nothing!!! U should try this exercise. Just scribble, make some marks on your paper, and most of all, embrace your inner child and have fun.

I used charcoal sticks and oil pastels that I received from my buy nothing group today and I’m so pumped about it
