Ride the Solar Vortex on Little Nordica's tallest coaster, surging high into the Scandinavian skies on the beautiful luminescent plasma flows of the Northern Lights. Aurora is a 2nd generation B&M hypercoaster serving as the anchor attraction to the Sapmi midway, celebrating the iconic aurora borealis light shows that dance not only in the skies over Samiland, but all over Scandinavia, and its tall presence emulates the glowing green beams all across Sapmi, Gamla Stan, and Dalarna. Viewing the park from afar, the massive roller coaster's lighting package resemble the natural phenomenon dancing over Little Nordica.

A tall, graceful machine, Aurora's shore-hugging layout features an ampersand, high-speed overbank curve, and a splashdown alongside the bread and butter camelback hills of the B&M hyper ride system. While it is our tallest coaster, Aurora was designed as a smooth, powerful, fast ride in contrast to the smaller, nastier, more chaotic natures of Ragnarok and UnderCut. The layout interacts with many of the park's features, including a first hill soaring high over Stockholm and a dive into an ice cave parallel to the Sapmi midway.

In honor of Martin Luther King Day, we've elected to unveil to the public one of the park's two dark rides: Hall Of The Nobel Prize. A celebration of some of the greatest people who ever lived and their accomplishments, which includes Dr. King.

Themed after the Nobel Prize Museum in Stockholm's Gamla Stan, Hall of the Nobel Prize takes Little Nordica guests on a tour of Nobel Prize laurate history, celebrating human achievements such as the Civil Rights Movement, discovery of general relativity, and culture shift against the Vietnam War. As so many Nobel Prizes have been given out, many names you'll recognize as the greatest minds in history, but some might surprise you! In the spirit of innovation, riders will board one of several high-capacity omnimover pods, keeping riders embarking and disembarking at all times and ensuring the ride never has a bad wait.

Celebrate the greatest feats of humankind at Hall of the Nobel Prize when Little Nordica Theme Park hits the Steam workshop in January 2026.

How do you get to Little Nordica?

Built on a Lake Michigan island off the shore of Milwaukee, Little Nordica brings in its guests like the Vikings they'll be for the day! From a port in Milwaukee, guests will punch their tickets and passports, go through security, and board one of several water taxis that will shuttle them out onto the Great Lakes to new horizons. They will get exit their boat and proceed into the park via the main entrance on the Stockholm midway.

Stormy day with rough seas? Not a problem, Little Nordica also has an on-site parking garage! An old underwater utility tunnel from the island's copper refinery days is now a straight shot to the park, a mere 20 minute drive away from the port in Milwaukee. Take public roads there, leave your car in Preferred Parking, and enter through the Copenhagen Gate in Nyhavn, or just hop on a shuttle bus from our port if it's really busy that day.

Multiple ways exist to get to Little Nordica, and not all of them will work all days. Check the park's social media to see which transportation services are available on the day of your visit.

Little Nordica Theme Park comes to the Frontier Workshop in January 2026.

All Aboard! Little Nordica's island-sprawling layout is connected conveniently by rail through our very own Nordic Express! Woven of narrow gauge rails through the park's midways and Great Lakes island terrain, a beautiful train ride provides service from Sapmi to Dalarna. Inspired by Scandinavia's incredible rail service, guests can either fast-track between UnderCut and Aurora's ride plazas, or just take the loop and stay on for a scenic journey. Passing under three of our roller coasters, over a rapids ride, traversing four railroad crossings of the midway, and even riding alongside a rocky ridge on the Lake Michigan shore, we're certain to be cooking up one of the most beautiful train rides in the entire industry. Should Little Nordica be able to open in the freezing Milwaukee winters, we're very confident that this will be at least one ride we can operate.

Nordic Express opens with Little Nordica Theme Park in 2029.

The end is nigh! Little Nordica releases this month, this year on Steam, and with the deadline approaching, we've got the perfect coaster for the end: Ragnarok! Inspired by the story of Thor's cataclysmic battle with the Midgard Serpent, Ragnarok puts riders at the center of a brutal Viking ritual meant to commemorate the devastation that looms in our future. A product of Idaho ride manufacturer Rocky Mountain Construction, who also handled Innovator at sister park La Belle France, RMC brings smoothness, intensity, and innovation to any park with their world-class product. Setting up shop on a real Great Lakes sandstone formation, the most special natural location on our plot was set aside to deliver a one-of-a-kind ride. One that is expected to be our best roller coaster.

Ragnarok opens in 2029 with Little Nordica Theme Park.

BREAKING: Little Nordica Theme Park design nearing completion!

DestiNations Alliance Resorts is making final preparations to submit their design for their new Little Nordica Theme Park to the City of Milwaukee for approval. The Scandinavian-themed park, announced in 2026 at sister DestiNations property La Belle France Theme Park, is slated to open its gate and ferry port in 2029. Among the opening day rides for Little Nordica are six roller coasters, two dark rides, a river rapids, a railroad, and a flying theater; with a grand total of 27 rides. A resort is also planned to open in the park's second year, as one did when La Belle France opened in 2026, with construction taking place during Little Nordica's opening season.

The park has eight different themed areas planned upon its opening. Gamla Stan allows guests to enter through Stockholm's royal old quarter, complete with a Nobel Prize dark ride and the world's first meatball-themed roller coaster. Sapmi brings guests into the powerful winter of Samiland under the twinkling Northern Lights. Njardheimr celebrates Scandinavia's Viking heritage with a hybrid roller coaster and a river rapids raid. Bryggen covers the park's rear waterfront and is themed to the many maritime industries of modern Norway, complete with a drop tower and flying theater. Nyhavn serves as the park's second gate, based in Copenhagen and welcoming guests through the historic harbor where Hans Christian Anderson once called home, featuring a dark ride expedition to find his Little Mermaid. Kids and their families will enjoy the Tivoli children's area and its many mild rides in a fairytale setting. And finally, finish your loop in the Dalarna region of Sweden, where a Midsommar celebration meets a coaster in a copper mine.

What'll be the first thing you do when Little Nordica opens to the public?

Just because the sun isn't out, doesn't mean Dalarna isn't rocking! Our midway celebrating the rural Swedish province features planted path lighting and beautiful hand-painted bins and benches to make sure that the whole area oozes with the charm of Scandinavian country living.

Lighting packages are also in place for Aurora and UnderCut. The metal of the copper mine-themed Vekoma tilt coaster rocks the orange glow of molten copper at night, casting a menacing ombre over the quaint little Midsommar celebration. On the other hand, as an early stage part of the Little Nordica concept meant to give the whole park a desired look, exhibits the bright teal shimmer of its namesake aurora borealis. Its tall, flowing, organic layout was engineered to resemble the Northern Lights glistening over Scandinavia. While that journey starts and ends across the park in Sapmi, its lights do wonders to beautify Dalarna and Stockholm as well.

Dalarna opens with Little Nordica Theme Park in 2029.
