The Independent Productions Initiative was designed to channel funding and technical assistance to the many independent theater productions increasingly happening outside of conventional theater company seasons, creating opportunities for artists, reaching new audiences, and sparking new community connections. 24 projects received donations from this innovative new project, resulting in more than 80 directors, actors, stage managers and designers getting stipends, getting opportunities to engage in their craft, building their body of work and contributing to the cultural life of the city.
