Two performers are joining the floor August 15. Bua has danced Latin community floors with Salsabrosa Dance Company for years, and this time, she’s dancing an aparima, a Tahitian dance that tells its story entirely through the hands.

And Tuka, coming up through Salsabrositas, is part of a new generation of Latin dancers stepping onto the Wherehouse floor for the first time at The Cooperage.

Contemporary artist and international salsa dancer.

Ten-plus years on the floor, starting in Accra, Ghana, where Francis Annan Affotey learned on one. Milwaukee is where he learned on two, in a city that opened its floor and let him keep building.

He’s based in London now, supporting his wife through her studies at Oxford, but Milwaukee is still where his dancing lives.

Francis teaches basic salsa this Saturday, August 15, at 9:00 p.m., sharp. Floor opens at 9:30 p.m.
