Dear Into the Woods Jr. Families,
First, thank you! Thank you to every child who auditioned for Into the Woods Jr. We were absolutely blown away by the talent, preparation, courage, and heart each performer brought into the audition room. It takes real bravery to stand up, sing, act, and put yourself out there—and every single one of you should be incredibly proud.
To our parents, thank you as well. We know callbacks came during an already incredibly busy and hectic time of year, and we are so grateful for the flexibility, transportation, encouragement, and support it took to get your children where they needed to be. Community theater truly takes a whole family, and we appreciate you more than you know.
This was an especially difficult casting process because we had far more talented auditioners than we had available spots in the production. That is both exciting and heartbreaking. In effort to allow for as many opportunities as possible, we chose to double the entire cast. Even so, we couldn’t include all our deserving auditioners in the show this time around. Please know that casting decisions were not a reflection of worth, talent, or potential—often they came down to specific casting needs, age balance, voice types, character chemistry, and simply the limited size of the cast.
To those who were cast: congratulations! We are thrilled to begin this journey with you and cannot wait to bring this magical story to life together.
To those who were not cast this time: please audition again! We’re fortunate to have so many opportunities in this valley to participate and grow in the arts! Keep growing, keep learning, and keep showing up. We would truly love to see many of you back in future auditions.
Thank you again for sharing your time, talent, and trust with us. We are so grateful to this wonderful theater community and to every family who chose to be part of this process.
With appreciation,
The Into the Woods Jr. Production Team
